Definitely a good idea. I've gone to register at different sites using psuedonyms that are rather unique only to found that they've already been registered - Could have easily avoided it if I followed this advice from day one.

I hate people creating accounts of other people names especially if the person is influential (Political, Entertainment and even in the Business World).. its really hard to identify whether the account is a real one or a bogus .. How can we determine if its the real one??

I found this site called http://URAjerk.com maybe you can use it. It seems to help get me through the issues of dealing with some of the jerks I know. At least I can vent about these jerks, plus I get a kick out of sending them some cards.

Hi,
Great thought. The right way to manage all aspects - brand and name reputation online and SEO - is to creat profiles under your name and link to your brand website.

I completely agree with you and have been doing this since around August of last year as I saw the importance of personal branding growing stronger every day.
It does get difficult managing profiles at 50+ different places but the search does pay off, and in different ways that you might first anticipate.
Take care!
Chuck Reynolds
http://chuckreynolds.us
