9 Tools To Schedule Tweets /LinkSpielNeed a tool to schedule tweets?  Here are nine to pick from:

1.  BufferApp

Overall, the free version is hard to beat, one of my favorites given what it can do. Bookmarklet can be a little buggy now and then, when it is, I delete from my toolbar and re-install. Recommend upgrading if multiple people will use the tool and/or you have multiple accounts.

Offer a free/paid version?  Both
Offer preset time scheduling?  Yes
Do you have to schedule each tweet individually?  No
Does it have iPhone/Android app?  Yes
Can you post to other platforms at the same time?  Yes (Facebook, G+ and LinkedIn on free  version)
Offer an URL shortener?  Yes
Offer analytics?  Yes
Can you tweet from multiple Twitter accounts simultaneously?  No but, paid version allows more than one  person to use service

2.  Future Tweets

A super simple tweet scheduler,  not much to look at but gets the job done and they don’t hound you with email updates.

Offer a free/paid version?  Free
Offer preset time scheduling?  No
Do you have to schedule each tweet individually?  Yes
Does it have iPhone/Android app?  No
Can you post to other platforms at the same time?  No
Offer an URL shortener?  No
Offer analytics?  No
Can you tweet from multiple Twitter accounts simultaneously?  No

3.  GrabInBox

Another basic option for anyone looking to schedule tweets across a handful of platforms.

Offer a free/paid version?  Free
Offer preset time scheduling?  No
Do you have to schedule each tweet individually?  Yes
Does it have iPhone/Android app?  No
Can you post to other platforms at the same time?  Yes Facebook and LinkedIn
Offer an URL shortener?  No
Offer analytics?  Yes
Can you tweet from multiple Twitter accounts simultaneously?  No

4.  LaterBro

Cute name, they do offer a bookmarklet which makes scheduling tweets easy when you find something.

Offer a free/paid version?  Free
Offer preset time scheduling?  No
Do you have to schedule each tweet individually?  Yes
Does it have iPhone/Android app?  No
Can you post to other platforms at the same time?  Yes, Facebook
Offer an URL shortener?  No
Offer analytics?  No
Can you tweet from multiple Twitter accounts simultaneously? No, but you can add more than one account and  switch between them

5.  Pluggio

Features with Pluggio’s free and paid versions are the same, paid version just offers “more”.  For example, with the free version you can send 10 scheduled tweets a day, with lowest paid version you can send 100.   Pluggio was my scheduler of choice for about two months and then I started having login issues and could not get anyone to respond to my help request.  I waited six days and sent another email through the site before someone responded with an indifferent reply, I am no longer using Pluggio as a result.  The lack of customer service aside, Pluggio has good features; I hope your experience isn’t as buggy as mine.

Offer a free/paid version?  Both
Offer preset time scheduling?  Yes
Do you have to schedule each tweet individually?  Yes
Does it have iPhone/Android app?  Yes
Can you post to other platforms at the same time?  Yes, Facebook

Does it have iPhone/Android app?  No
Can you post to other platforms at the same time?  Yes with paid version

Social Oomph has an option to retweet the same message repeatedly for up to months at a time.  Great if you have an event you want to to broadcast but

7.  Twittimer

Offer a free/paid version?   Both
Offer preset time scheduling?   No
Do you have to schedule each tweet individually?   Yes
Does it have iPhone/Android app?   No

The paid option is an affordable $4 a month but that seems about right given what the tool offers.

Nothing fancy, just easy to use.

9.  Twitter

Twitter offers you the option of scheduling tweets, they don’t let on you can do it because they want you to pay for the promoted tweet service, but if you’d rather tweet directly from Twitter, you can.  Here’s what you do:

Go to https://ads.twitter.com and click on Creatives/Tweets/Scheduled/Compose a Scheduled Tweet.  You’ll use the “Standard” option and select a day/time.  That’s all there is to it!  To see how your tweets are doing (all of them, not just the scheduled tweets), click the Analytics button.

Buffer is great, but if all you want to do is schedule tweets, why not just use Tweet Deck?
Another great tool is Oktopost- great with Twitter and also Linkedin, including groups.

Trying to update the blog has been a slow and difficult process, I have a couple of behind-the-scenes issues to iron out before things go back to normal. But thanks for stopping by and keep an eye on your feed reader!

Yes, some of the Twitter tools offer paid options which you will need a credit card for. Not all programs offer an analytics reporting, you’ll have to look at each tool to figure that out.

For the Twitter stuff to work do you have to have a credit card? I finally found the Scheduled stuff under the compose button, but never saw anything like “Creatives/Tweets/Scheduled”. I also don’t see “Analytics”.

Glad you liked the list Ryan. I know a lot of people like Hootsuite, personally I find it a little overwhelming but glad it works for you!

Power list Debra! Thanks for sharing the specs too.

I’m a hootsuite pro guy myself. I love it. But I’ve used other tools you’ve listed like socialoomph. Personalizing and manually engaging is key too. Prove that you are human. Set up some tweets. Hop on board to interact to form stronger bonds and grow business.

    Tweeting now!
